Nokia Maps will be provided free of charge to all brands of Windows Phone

According to welovewp, Nokia India have stated that they would charge a fee for the Nokia Maps Windows Phone application. That would have been on any other Windows Phones that aren’t made by Nokia, as all Nokia phones get the application for free. Now it appears that Nokia Hong Kong might have stated that they will be no fee when it comes to people using Nokia Maps on non-Nokia Windows Phones.

This means that hopefully we will all be able to download and use the Nokia Maps applications on our phones. We won’t however get the navagation or music applications. So you will still need to buy a Nokia Windows Phone in order to get those two bits of software. We were expecting this and we were hoping that Nokia would release the Maps application to the public in November, however now we are hoping that they will release it in the first quarter of 2012.
